Demographics & investment opportunities
What have been the most important lessons learned in terms of the performance since GIS SRI Ageing Population (the Fund) was launched in 2015?
Since the Fund was launched, we focused on stocks with a visible, healthy growth profile, combined with stock-picking based on cash generation. This is in addition to the SRI process adopted.
Indeed, our “growth” focus, coupled with our disciplined approach when selecting theme driven stocks, means we have avoided investing in stocks simply because they belong to sectors with theoretical links to ageing population.
Regarding stock-picking, our cash-generation approach ensures performance in two ways: first of all, it avoids ruling out companies that may seem “expensive” in terms of their accounting valuation (PER), but whose ample, visible profile and growth opportunities have not been sufficiently taken into consideration.
